It’s been a myriad of learning curves and evolvement over the last three decades; from academia, to management, to brain picking, to the methodical protocol and red tape minutia of the corporate fitness world – where I had the experience of not wanting that experience again.

The club setting provided its own unique skill set. I hired more trainers than I fired, thankfully, and trained an eclectic mix: from preparing a 31 year old F.B.I. Agent wannabe for his fitness test, to developing explosive power in a 14 year old soccer player, to implementing an appropriate yet challenging program design for a 63 year old woman afflicted with multiple sclerosis.

Over the years, it became apparent that expecting an optimal strength and conditioning program from a commercial fitness culture offering little more than machine-based circuits with fern and mirror décors, was a loser’s gambit. As a result, I created tgfit in 1997.
